Storm Management Fundamentals for Sailors
Manage your yacht in a storm: from forecast to deck actions.
What you'll learn
About the course
In a storm, there is no time for improvisation. Captains and crew often lose control not because of the weather, but because of the lack of a clear plan and skills. This course teaches you to read meteorological data, prepare the yacht and crew, and most importantly — to act decisively when waves and wind press from all sides.
You will master the analysis of forecasts before heading to sea, checking yacht systems and securing equipment, crew safety on deck in difficult conditions. You will learn to choose storm sails and course, localize leaks and repair the rudder when disaster is imminent. A separate section is devoted to psychology: how to maintain clarity of mind and keep the team from panicking when the stakes are highest.
The course is built on real scenarios and case studies. You will develop your own storm plan for your yacht and receive checklists for regular practice with your crew. Suitable for captains, skippers and experienced sailors who want to reduce risks and act confidently in any conditions.
